India are World Champions ...

Image
I know this post is a little too late and the reason why I delayed it was to relive the moment a little later. The day which will be etched in my memory till my doom, is 2nd April 2011 and a verse which I want to be as an epitaph on my tomb is “Sachin kissed his World Cup”. In spite of me falling terribly sick that day, I gathered some strength to watch this epic final between India and Sri Lanka. I never expected INDIA to reach this stage, but some stupendous batting and fielding performance by the men-in-blue proved me wrong. I am gonna take you all through the emotions and highlights of this Cricket World Cup 2011. The way Sehwag started this World Cup was in itself a very special and a memorable one, starting the series with a sexy cover drive and continuing to start his innings with a 4 on 5 consecutive innings is something special. India looked very strong against the minnows Bangladesh in the opening match and that performance could have given shivers in the spine of every...

Cricket World Cup 2011 – A Review

Like every Cricket Fan, I am also delighted and thrilled to welcome this edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup. I do not prepare myself to watch this edition of the World Cup with any hopes of INDIA lifting the coveted trophy, I am happy to see the same old Kapil Dev kissing the World Cup even for the next edition of Cricket World Cup. This analysis is a very straight-forward and honest write-up which I have written based on the current and previous performances of the teams since the last one year. I am a great lover of this game and I appreciate talent and I am in no way a FANATIC. I will watch all the games just to get drenched in the rain of runs. Obviously my heart will cut a sorry figure if INDIA loses, but I will move on. Come-on folks, lets celebrate ICC Cricket World Cup, the one event which unites the entire Nation and the whole World. Australia Whatever one can say about their tactics towards the game or their attitude, they are arguably the best in the business when it ...

IPL 4 Teams - An Analysis...

So the much awaited IPL 4 auction is over and we now have given a new look to all the teams, lot of shuffling has happened, folks who were once opponents are now teammates, on the whole it’s a brand new season and an action packet tournament is guaranteed. Here are my comments and review of each and every team, of course it is going to be short and crisp. Royal Challengers Bangalore - Like how they are not willing to release Cauvery Water, they are not ready to release Virat Kholi from their team, yes that guy is in super form but he is not consistent. Mohammed Kaif is a surprise pick, may be Mr. Mallya wud have been in heavily drunk, and he would have asked "Hey are we picking Kaif?" and his obedient employees have gone ahead and purchased "Mohammed Kaif", but in truth he would have meant "Katrina Kaif". On the whole this team has lost its sheen, and they are not a solid team this season. Strengths: Zaheer, Dilshan, Vettori Weakness: Rest of the team ...

Series Drawn ... Questions Raised ...

The recently concluded test series in South Africa did give jitters to many Indian cricket fans like me, it is good to be called as the No 1 test cricket team in the world, but do we really have the potential of being the "World Beaters" is one question which will haunt every true and honest cricket fan, yes, I do not talk about fanatics here. Our Indian cricket team did not exhibit even 5% of qualities to be stamped as the No 1 test team in the world. Though the series has been drawn, it did not fail to expose the weak links in our team and also it once again proved, how this young team is heavily dependent on their old war horse Sachin Tendulkar  Our team landed in SA with some percentage of over confidence and if I have to quote what Harbhajan said during the pre-match press conference before the start of the series - "We have not come here to prove anyone that we are the No 1 , we have a quality side which can take any bowling attack for a task, Steyn will be treate...

A Game that needs Oxygen ...

Being a die-hard cricket fan, the recent scandals are really hard to digest and that too I believe that a team like Pakistan has involved in this. To me Pakistan is one team who has this "Never say Die" attitude, they are one unit who I thought plays for the nation and not for anything else. This expose has shocked me and has put up a tough question for myself saying - "Do you still want to be a fanatic of this game?". I am not a person who watches only INDIA matches, I do watch that game played by any country, I appreciate that sport and the kind of talent that game has. When we hear such shocking stories, it pains so much that I have wasted good quality time watching that match, whereas I could have done something better. PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) were already in a pool of scandals, starting from doping to captaincy issues to attack by terrorists on a visiting cricket team and now with this "Match Fixing" scandal the curtains are almost down for them...

Fan or Fanatic ?

Come-on guys, let's give a break. We all would have spoken about this, debated about this, argued about this, left it as it is about this for ages now but again and again we choose to pick the same topic and keep continuing to dig the same hole again and again. I am talking about the reactions of the citizens, media and the ex-cricketers of this country whenever INDIA performs badly at a big stage. I strongly support the Men in Blue and I will not accept anything that is going to tarnish their image. Guys see this as a game, I know every INDIAN is emotionally attached to this sport and so do I. There is a subtle difference between a "Fanatic" and a "Fan" of this sport. Fanatic is one who always believes that his team is the best and would not agree anything other than a victory for his team, but a Fan is someone who appreciates the sport for the way it is being played, irrespective of how the team he supports performs. Let’s all be a Fan and not a Fanatic... W...

I wish I could have died today ...

I wish I could have died today, seeing this one innings from GOD Sachin Tendulkar is enough to be proud of my life time and it has given every meaning for my birth. What we all witnessed in Gwalior today, is nothing but the demonstration of what will happen if GOD decides to go on a rampage. I should admit and be proud to say that, till date, I have not missed even one single century stroke of God Sachin, let it be one day or test matches. Today's innings of GOD Sachin would have proved all his haters (who to me are not human beings) and critics (who to me are stupid’s who does not have brains the size of their balls) that they are wrong and if they still continue to hate GOD Sachin, they are not eligible to say they are INDIANs. I was at office doing a sickening work and honestly what I was doing is checking the scores on the internet and the way GOD Sachin started the innings, something flashed in my mind that GOD is up for some massacre and he may hit his 46th one day ton (Fol...

We are World No.1 ...

Image
What an emphatic win and a tremendous performance by the INDIAN team, they simply outplayed the Lankans in all departments of the game and this unit is so far the best Indian contingent we have ever seen with respect to the percentage of fight backs our team has made after seeing early hemorrhage for the top order line-up. I thought the second test against the Lankans wud be one of the best performance in this series and Shewag proved me wrong by coming out with a fiery, merciless and a ruthless knock of 293, at that stage the Lankans did not lose the match by numbers, they were already losers by their morale, and that is the impact a swashbuckling player like Shewag can do to the opponents ... The way Shewag insulted the Lankan bowlers, any pacer would feel humiliated, and the icing on the cake was when Shewag demolished Muralidharan with his "Go-Attack-Kill" attitude, and it seriously demoralized Murali and would have had similar nightmares of what Warne had on Sachin Tendu...

Celebrating Sachin's T20 ...

I don’t believe in time machines but this post would act as a time machine for everyone who is reading this, yes we are gonna go back 20 years from today and will come back to the same year at the end of this post. This post is going to be one my lengthiest post I would ever create in my life, yes I can never be short of words when I have to talk about my role model, my unseen mentor, my philosopher, and guide. I may have not spoken to him, but the delight of seeing him injected a chemical reaction inside me which is to be felt and not to be explained, this man, is in me in every flesh and nerve and he can never be separated from my thoughts until my last bone is burnt to ashes. I learnt the art of having a "LIFE" from this genius, everyone in their life will have a person as their yardstick when they grow up and fortunately for me, I have this person as my yardstick and I know I did not make a wrong choice. I don't see this gentlemen as just a cricketer, he is much more ...

A Volcano Called Sachin ...

A volcano called Sachin Tendulkar errupted today at Hyderabad. Oh boy what a match it was, an unforgettable run chase ever by INDIA, and who else can anchor this great run chase other than the master blaster, the GOD of INDIAN cricket Sachin Tendulkar. It was more like we seeing Sachin a decade back, what an arrogance, what variety of shots, look at his wagon wheel, lines were around every nook and corner of the ground, that is the caliber of a genius, he has the ability to play the ball to any direction at will. I would admit the fact that I was not at all hoping for INDIA to put up such a brave fight against the aussies after seeing such a huge total on the board, but the way master blaster orchestrated his innings, it was a treat to watch... I twitted saying, Sachin's body language looks very positive and he is going to produce a cracker of an inning and that is what happened today and also the mysterious myth of INDIA losing every game when Sachin has shined also continued to h...
