KURUVI - Movie Review

Image
I know its a pretty late review to read, but unfortunately I got a chance to see this movie just today and I could not resist writing review for this movie, ok let me not keep you guys in the dark, I am talking about this movie "KURUVI". At times, these kinds of movies really make us go spiritual and religious, and give us an opportunity to believe, GOD does exist and he is the ultimate savior of this mankind. I am still wondering why they have spoilt the name of such an active bird which is almost near the verge of extinct... We actually should not crib much about the movie, as the director has given ample clue of how the movie will look like at the very start of the movie, I am telling about Vijay's introductory scene, where he comes from a drainage, what that actually indicates to us is, that movie's story is taken from the drainage and all you can expect is shit. There were too many built-up's in the movie which was totally unacceptable to believe when it is p

Raman Uncle ...

Raman is a retired Army man and also a widower. His sons are all well settled in the US and are earning a good amount of money. Raman never expected their money to win his bread, he has planned his future very well and hence he lives on his own finance. At the age of 60, Raman has no big recreations in life, and also his sons are too busy even to talk to him and all he gets is an occasional email. Raman does not want to burry himself inside the feeling of "loneliness"; he decided to do something which makes his soul happy. Its not that he is searching for a ticket to "moksha" by doing something good, he just wanted to make a difference in others life and also to give a meaning for his life ... He is not physically fit to do any social activities which may demand running between pillar to post and making things to happen. Raman is a very good singer and also a good dancer. He wanted to do something with his skills. He quickly flipped through the directory and then fo

Keeranur Railway Station ...

Vinay got off the train on that dusky december morning; it’s been almost two decades since he had visited his hometown. He found that the railway station of "Keeranur" has not changed a bit. He could immediately recollect the face of that station master who was 20 years older now. He just went and stood beside him and waited for him to turn back, initially he could not realize who it was and to prove that he is a strict station master, he demanded "Ticket please" to Vinay, and Vinay snapped him back by saying, "Ticket ? What ticket? Do you know who I am?, I am the best friend of this station master, he used to take me on his back for a ride every evening and then get me plums from that near by tree", that one instance brought a 1000 watt smile on Kasinathan's face, he hugged Vinay and the happiness was pretty evident on his face... He was surprised to see Vinay and he could not believe that he is there with him today. He asked him that sense of false a

First Crush ...

He lives in one of the busiest city of this country, he is a carefree guy, who lives for the present and does not care about the future, because he thinks that future is not in his hands. He does not crib on anything in life except one, (i.e.) he does not have a proper shelter to live, and he lives on the roadside footpath. He does not have the necessity to earn as he does not believe in tomorrow. He is happy with what he gets and lives his life for that moment. Though he is old enough to get married, he is still single as no one is ready to marry him... Life just moved on for him but little he knew that he is going to meet the crush of his life on the same roadside where he lives. It was pouring very heavily one night and not even a single place was left dry by that arrogant rain, since he has protected his roadside shelter from all natural disasters, his place was dry as a desert, as he was enjoying his night supper which he begged from a nearby shop, by watching the rain, he noticed

Laugh Out Loud ...

I got this piece of "letter" as a email forward from my friend (Maddy) and I should admit the fact that, I was laughing like mad for almost 15 minutes after reading this, and hence I thought of posting the same on my blog for my readers to read and enjoy the same happiness. I dont know the author of this piece of work, but I should admit that, the person who would have written this should be a genius. I salute that guy for this masterpiece creation. Hat's off to him !!!

Happy Birthday - 'Dasaavathaaram'

Image
Its the day of the mega movie "Dasavathaaram", I just cant wait anymore to watch that magnum opus, there are all good reasons for me to watch that, not only Kamal Hassan is casting 10 different roles, but its my darling Asin's presence in that movie, we all know that she is a cute little talented bundle and I am sure she would have produced an absolute stunner performance in this movie, it may not be as equal to Kamal's performance, but it would certainly be a good one... This is India's costliest movie ever produced and who else the industry can bet on such a huge investment none other than our one and only talented actor of India Mr. Kamal Hassan. Doing 10 roles in a movie is not an easy joke, he has changed is body language, voice, style, walk and every other thing to show distinct variance between the roles. Our superstar Mr. Rajinikanth has already given thumbs up for this movie after watching the preview and that one liner save Oscar productions a huge cost

My Dear Friend...

Sindhu and Sandhya were very good friends, both like being together whenever they find time, though status wise Sandhya is not to be compared with Sindhu as she is the daughter of the servant maid who works in Sindhu's house. Sindhu had a soft corner towards Sandhya and she used to pity her for being poor, so Sindhu used to share anything and everything with her all the time. Sindhu hates to go to school as she would feel bad that she has to miss Sandhya who cannot afford to go to school, she used to think why if she can go to school, and why not Sandhya, but all these financial constraints are not easily understood by a 4 year old girl. Sindhu's dad and mom did not mind their daughter being so close to Sandhya, in fact they had planned to join Sandhya in the same school where Sindhu studies and also assured their maid that they will take care of all her educational needs, their servant maid had not words to thank them. This being summer holidays, Sindhu and Sandhya used to pla

He is our son ...

Kavya could not control her laughter on seeing Varun in that traditional "Panchakacham" and similarly Varun could not control his laughter on seeing Kavya in that "Madisaar", it was the occasion of their new born baptism ceremony, this occasion is doubly special because this is the first time parents from both the sides are meeting together and accepting their marriage after spelling silence for almost 2 years. Kavya and Varun had a very long debate on what to name their kid, and they both were very conscious on the fact that they are not going to name him in any relevance to his or her parents / ancestor's name ... After fighting for supremacy, finally Kavya's suggesting was taken into consideration and they named their new born baby boy as "Abhay", though it’s a typical south indian tamil name, Kavya insisted to christen her son on this name. Abhay was the center of attraction that day and both the families moved with each other without any emoti

IPL is all over ...

Ah, it’s all over. Once again Chennai tried hard to beat the Royals, but there wasn’t enough meat to fight back. Well, Dhoni cannot win all the finals he plays, so this time it’s not his day out at the IPL. I was happy that Royals have won, but I would have been even happier if Chennai would have won, but, it’s just a game and we have to enjoy it. I don’t want to narrate the sequence of events which unfolded yesterday, as almost everyone would have seen that, but I would like to share the two important events which happened yesterday which virtually grabbed the cup from Chennai... The first one being, Kappugadera sent up the order after the dismissal of Albie Morkel, this was a rude shock to all of us and I think even Dhoni wouldn’t have expected him to come. He literally wasted the balls and was nudging for singles at the crucial stage of the match, why was Badrinath not sent up the order; to me he is a much sensible batsmen than that stupid Kappugadera. The second one was when Raina

Mind your own Business ...

This aging millionaire wanted to retire from his business as he is getting very old, and he wanted his son to take charge and run the show on his shoulder, but he was a bit skeptic to hand over that big responsibility to his son as he was very young and he does not know the intricacies of this business. He then decided to talk to his son and then find out his comfort level and his confidence in taking over the business. He went home and then called his son and discussed with him about his plans of handing over the business to him, so that he can continue from where he left. His son was extremely delighted and was more than happy take up the responsibility, so he decided to take his son to his office the next day ... He took his son to his factory which he built from a 14X14 room to a massive 20 acre factory today. He told him all the day to day activities that he needs to carry out and introduced him to some of the senior employees of his factory who were responsible for all this succe

IPL - 2nd Semi Final - A No Contest

It was a no contest at the 2nd semi-final of the DLF IPL match against Chennai and Punjab. Punjab would have never imagined this kind of a humiliating defeat at the hands of the so called minnows "Chennai". I somehow thought that Punjab went by the theory that they have lost to Chennai on both the occasions during the league phase and this time they will have the last laugh as Chennai cannot win them all the time. I had a feel that Punjab took Chennai a bit lightly. Nothing seemed to work for them right from the word go, except the toss. This is how the action unfolded ... Kings XI Punjab won the toss and elected to bat, which they thought is the right option as they have this explosive "Shaun Marsh" in their team, but they failed to sense the brilliance of Dhoni's captaincy, who would have ever thought that Murali would be asked to bowl the first over ? What a cricketing brain Dhoni has, none of the Punjab team folks expected this and that's Dhoni. Murali s
